Since 1987, PMA has earned a reputation as a highly successful placement firm. Our consultative approach to recruiting has allowed us to establish on-going relationships with a wide variety of Clients and Candidates.

Who pays for the services provided by Paul May & Associates?

Our fees are paid fully by the Employer after a successful hire has been made.

Do you provide sponsorships for H-1, F-1 or other visas?

Under certain circumstances our Clients will consider sponsoring someone with visa requirements. For example, if you have quantifiable proficiency in a skill set that is very marketable, our Clients may consider visa sponsorship, however typically our Clients do not offer sponsorship.

What is your process for starting a search?

You will receive a follow-up response to your resume shortly after your submittal. Your first contact with PMA will be with one of our staffing specialists. We will first speak with you on the phone to understand your background and what you are looking to accomplish. We will then go over available positions that meet your requirements and background and with your permission, submit your resume to our Client(s) for their consideration. Concurrently, your professional references will be contacted to more fully understand your background and skills. As soon as we have feedback on a particular position or as soon as we have new positions, we will contact you.

How often will I hear from you?

Once you begin the search process, you can expect to hear from your PMA recruiter contact as opportunities or feedback becomes available. We also encourage you to review our web site periodically and to call us if you see a position of interest. We encourage you to be an active participant in your job search, so please feel free to correspond with us via email or telephone as needed. We also offer a ‘new jobs’ email, which you can sign-up for in your profile area, which we encourage you to sign-up for, so you receive news of our most current positions.

What about benefits?

If you are seeking permanent placement, benefits packages will vary based on the opportunity. This is an area we will help you explore with each Client company to determine compatibility with your needs.

Will you negotiate my salary and benefits with my prospective employer?

Yes, we would be glad to make sure that all requirements are met to the best of everyone’s availability. It is very important that you share upcoming vacations, raises and any other factors that would be critical to this process. Also, keep us updated on any upcoming offers or interview dates so we can streamline this process as much as possible.

How do you gain access to jobs I can’t?

Many of the companies we work with don’t advertise their positions because of the time and expense associated with performing their own candidate search. Instead they open these jobs to PMA, knowing that we will send them only qualified Candidates for their openings. Due to our long-term relationships with our Clients, we have firsthand knowledge of many new openings.

How long will it take for me to find the right job?

The length of the process depends on timing, your skills, your objectives, flexibility and our Client’s availability. If your skills are in current demand in the marketplace, the overall process can take between 2 days and several weeks, depending on the circumstances.

What kind of salary can I expect to receive?

As you might imagine, there is no simple answer to this question. Market value is largely determined by area of the country, years of experience, depth of experience, educational history and often company/industry.

I am looking to change careers, can you help me?

It depends on your background, education and flexibility. If you have an applicable degree and relevant industry experience, coupled with at least 2 years experience in a related field, we may be able to help you. You must be flexible on salary requirements when changing careers, but you can recover quickly once you learn new skills.
